ABSTRACT

The Nu Alpha Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, a professional collegiate fraternity, needed modern web representation. This space was essential for communications for internal connectivity between members and providing an avenue for conducting business. It also served as a way for the fraternity to advertise and educate the public about their culture, policies, and activities that touched the community.

As a class president, Uri is expected to have an accomplished palette of social research and accountability. He often plans his events in accordance with counterparts and uses the Nu Alpha Sigma website as a refresher because many of his fraternity brothers can post events there at there leisure. Rather than giving his counterparts a call, he can utilize the scheduling features of the website to check for conflicts and to see what other interesting events have been scheduled that may require his attention or participation.

Marcus is a sophomore at Wayne State University. He wants to get more active in the community and become more social because he's a student still rather new to the area. He's looking into joining a fraternity to solve this problem as they often put on social engagement and social assistance events. He turns to the Nu Alpha Sigma Website to check on the history of the fraternity and the recent history of their social engagement. He also sees what they have planned and if that fits into his ideals suitable for his involvement.

Janiceton is an outreach organizer and needs to be well informed of what other community organizations are doing. She often turns to fraternity websites just to get a brief on the details because most of her work depends on informing others on how they could be of assistance or even gain assistance. She often thumbs through the Nu Alpha Sigma website and jots down notes on what they do to engage in the community. She also takes note of some of the events that allow users to relax and have fun as that can assist with coping.

"I NEED TO BE REMINDED OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AND DECISCIONS."

THE PROCESS

Although this website seems typical it has many confusing layers so we turn to wireframes to get a feel on how to organize for the complex visual real estate. There will have to be several templates as the user will either be invited or informed.

THE SOLUTION

The wires do a great service and justice, allowing the prototypes to come alive.  We can be a bit more detailed with color schemes, typography and contextual and even visual juxtaposition at this point.
