ABSTRACT

The web representation of the LB King Building in downtown Detroit needed a new look. The new site had to touch on the architecture, history, and its location. They also wanted to advertise that the building is for sale and had lease space available. It's a building made for finding comforts and luxury to wrap around its corporate use. The site needed to have a contemporary feel that could be comfortable while informative for a future leaser, visitor, or a new owner. This site should be inviting and should make you want to take a moment to visit the LB King building in person as well.

"I NEED TO BE REMINDED OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AND DECISCIONS."

THE PROCESS

This history of this building is lodged in an early industrial Downtown Detroit where the horse and buggy were being shuffled out of popularity to inevitably make room for the new widespread economic transportation. To reflect on the sensual nature of history while also idealizing on the strong upkeep well into the modern era of today would be a suitable strong point in the look and feel of a functioning user interface. Sketches and wireframes were created to illustrate and to isolate typography, the respect for timing and history, as well as, the website's spacial hierarchy and flow

THE SOLUTION

What commonly follows the prototype phase is the final rendering of the user interface. We move from development to production by adding clever images of the building in fashionable juxtapose of the modern or old age civil capacity. The design of the website doesn't call for very much change or upkeep so we have decided to keep it as a scrolling one-page application that moves the user from one section to the next with a smooth animation. To dazzle the user even further and show the details of the building we gift the viewer a parallax effect when they scroll vertically.  Javascript holds true as a very formidable tool in this regard.
